Software Development Engineer

You designsoftware solutions to make our customer specific technical solutions work. Starting from a blank sheet to the moment the equipment leaves our factory, witnessing your design come to life.

About the role

This role is geared toward designing, developing, loading, and debugging software for our new equipment as well as improving existing applications or standards. Together with your software projectteam members, you are responsible for the automation of the entire machine, assuring our equipment functions as required by our clients.

You won’t do this alone. Delivering ambitious projects like ours require close teamwork. As member of the multidisciplinary project-team’s you collaborate closely with colleagues from other engineering departments. Taking full ownership of the softwaredesign process, you assure alignment with other disciplines, the requirements and specifications of our clients and branch specific regulations in the Pharmaceutical and Bio- Tech industry.

Responsibilities

• Designsoftware for new equipment according to the required functionality/specifications.
• Prepare design documentation for developed software programs.
• Implementation and debugging of the software.
• Support during the testing of new equipment.
• Advise and support installation team and customer during installation phase.
• Training of service engineers and end users (customer) in using the new equipment and software.
• Improvement of existing applications.
• Planning and budgeting of own software development activities.
• Support the engineering projectteam by assessing technical risks and cost consequences.

What do you bring? 

• A Technical bachelor’s degree in computer science (or similar level acquired through experience).
• 5+ years of working experience in a similar position.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of multiple fields of engineering (i.e., mechanical, electrical, mechatronics).
• Experience in PLC programming (Siemens Step-7, TIA Portal, WinCC).
• Affinity and knowledge of motion, vison and robotics is a pre.
• Knowledge of standards such as GAMP5 and/or ISA-88 are considered a plus.
• Verbal and written proficiency in (technical) English is required, any proficiency in Dutch is preferred.
