VSPARTICLE is a start-up born in 2014 out of the research labs of TU Delft. After the successful introduction of the nanoparticle aerosol generator (G1), we have recently set our aim on the development of a nanomaterial printer (P1) and a material database, allowing academia and industry to use state-of-the-art technology to develop new nanomaterials in months instead of years. We are a diverse group of currently around 20 people, working closely together to develop, sell and support our technologies from our office at YES!Delft (the Netherlands). 

As a Head of IT you will be responsible for implementing, contributing and leading the IT in accordance with the overall strategy and vision of VSPARTICLE. For this role you will have several years of experience in with various IT disciplines and technologies (Windows/Linux server systems, Active Directory, Office 365, virtualisation, networking, PKI, configuration management) as well as a solid background in IT security. 

This brand new role requires the ability to internalize knowledge of systems and tools withing the organization, instinctively connect tools and technologies, identify opportunities for improvement and understanding how to make the most out of integrations, You have an entrepreneurial nature to try new and different things with minimal direction, are a multidisciplinary team-builder with leadership experience, be a proponent of using open-source software over proprietary alternatives and learning as well as the ability to prioritize effectively. 

The specific challenges we can offer you is to: 

• Scaling the existing internal infrastructure to meet up with the growth ambitions of the company 
• Leading the daily operations and projects (time, scope and budgets) 
• Developing comprehensive roadmap(s) to translate strategy to practice and keep tools, systems and network state-of-the-art to ensure the organisation is a digital frontrunner 
• Pro-actively working to further improve business processes and identifying opportunities for further digitalisation 
• Managing IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance 
• Implementing a highly integrated and security-first approach to IT across the organisation 
• Identifying problematic areas and advising as well as implementing strategic solutions in time
