As an Import Ocean Freight Specialist, you are responsible for coordinating and managing import shipments within the logistics process. You serve as a liaison between various parties and ensure the smooth and efficient handling of all import activities.
In this role, you will collect, process, and verify relevant information from various parties within the logistics chain, with a strong focus on import ocean freight. You will monitor the progress and completeness of shipments and ensure that everything proceeds according to plan.
Your responsibilities include:

• Coordinating import ocean freight shipments from start to finish
• Creating and managing shipping files, including cost tracking, bookings, and revenue
• Providing instructions for proper financial and administrative processing
• Maintaining contact with customers, shipping lines, and other parties involved regarding operational progress
• Monitoring shipments and promptly following up on discrepancies
• Reporting to the Import Team Leader
• Actively contributing to process improvements, efficiency, and digitization within the department

Job Requirements:

• You are a well-organized professional with strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and an interest in logistics.
• You have a vocational education (MBO) level of work and thinking
• Experience in a similar role is a plus
• You have a good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written
• You have experience with WMS and Microsoft Office 365
• You have a customer-focused attitude
• You are flexible and do not have a 9-to-5 mindset
