Job description

For an international hotel chain we are currently looking for a Business Controller (m/f/x) in Hoofddorp. Do you have a passion for the hospitality industry and would like to work in an international setting? If so, go on reading and apply if you would like to discuss the details.

Tasks & responsibilities of the Business Controller in Hoofddorp

Review and coordinate the month end reporting pack including P/L, B/S analysis

Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data

Manage the production of the yearly Budget exercise, eventual periodic forecasts and update of the 5YP

Prepares budgets by establishing schedules collecting, analysing, and consolidating financial data recommending plans

Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures

Review investment cases for submitting to Group Management

Participate to the definition of a comprehensive set of KPIs to monitor Business Performance

Compare actual results vs. approved Business cases (EBITDA, ROCEs)

Efficiency Plans promote, follow-up and execute Profit and Balance sheet Improvement actions across the Business Unit

Analyse functions overheads at Business Unit and Country level

Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of BU operations

Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues together with action plans to management

Reinforce the use of Hyperion and BPC as Group reporting tools and create/upgrade reports so the financial info is produced semi-automatically for review/analysis

Seek improvements in the Company's information systems (manual and electronic)

Identify and evaluate areas for improvement of profit

Lead/participate to new projects implementation

Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Participate to Monthly Business Unit Performance Review meetings

Requirements

Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including IFRS

Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections

Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Fluent in English, German is considered to be plus
