About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic R&D Manager to lead and inspire their research and development team. This pivotal role focuses on driving innovation, identifying new opportunities, and developing cutting-edge technology and products in the medical device industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Manage and guide the R&D team through product development, design controls, remediation, audit support, and more.

Technical Strategy: Provide technical leadership, prioritize projects, and communicate externally.

Staff Development: Set goals, evaluate performance, and support career development for R&D staff.

Expert Review: Serve as a subject matter expert during audits and establish processes for optimal product and tooling design.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with management and embrace continuous process improvement.

Best Practices: Identify and implement best practices within the R&D group.

IP Contribution: Contribute to the company’s intellectual property portfolio.

Communication: Effectively communicate status, issues, and mitigation plans with stakeholders.

Safety Responsibility: Provide medical and clinical expertise for product safety and risk management.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering; advanced degree or MBA preferred.

Experience: 7+ years in the medical device industry, ideally in consumables, with project management or team leadership roles.

Managerial Skills: 1-3+ years of managerial experience with proven leadership capabilities.

Technical Knowledge: Expertise in materials, manufacturing methods, and industry standards.

Language Skills: Proficient in Dutch and English.

Travel: Up to 20% travel may be required.
